Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the operator of Replico (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Replico and its related services. It covers casting, screen mirroring, web browsing, the Safari extension and Apple Watch remote control.
Please read this policy before using these features. Accepting a user agreement does not replace any separate permission or consent required to process your information.
1. Information and purposes
The information needed depends on the features you use. Processing information on your device or sending it to a receiver is different from sending information to the developer or an analytics provider.
- Connections and playback. Replico processes information about compatible devices, connection status and the active playback session to find receivers, connect and handle remote commands. This can include device names, network addresses, playback status and media details.
- Media and screen content. Casting involves sending the media you select, or information needed to play it, to the receiver you choose. Screen mirroring transmits screen content and any audio included in the session. Notifications and other private information visible on your screen may also be displayed.
- Web browsing and the Safari extension. Websites you open receive network requests. Casting a supported web video can involve passing its media address to a receiver. Depending on the playback method, the receiver may request the media directly from the content provider. Media addresses can contain access tokens; do not share them with untrusted devices.
- Apple Watch remote control. Playback information and control commands are exchanged as needed to control the active session. The available controls depend on the receiver and casting mode.
- Technical and diagnostic information. The supplied policy draft describes device model, operating system and app versions, IP address, network type, operational logs, crash reports and usage or performance information for reliability, troubleshooting and security. The exact fields, recipients and collection settings still require verification; this draft does not confirm that all of them are collected.
- Feedback. When you contact us, we use the message, contact information and attachments you choose to provide to respond and investigate the issue. Avoid sending passwords, payment information or private media that is not needed for support.
Information must be used for a stated purpose and on a lawful basis. Where consent is required, it must be obtained before the relevant processing. A materially different purpose requires an updated explanation and any consent required by applicable law.
2. Websites and cookies
Websites opened in Replico or Safari may use cookies, local storage or similar technologies to maintain sign-in sessions, remember preferences or measure activity. Their own privacy notices apply to their processing. Using Replico does not prevent those websites from receiving information normally associated with a visit, such as an IP address and browser information.
This website’s page code does not include an analytics script, advertising script, contact-form submission or browser-storage feature. The hosting platform may separately process access and security information. Hosting and any app-specific cookie or browsing-history retention need to be confirmed before this policy becomes effective.
3. Storage and security
Personal information should be kept only as long as necessary for the stated purpose, handling requests and meeting applicable legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized as appropriate. This draft does not establish a specific storage country, cloud-backup feature or automatic deletion period.
Information sent to a receiver or a website may also be handled by that device or provider. Stopping a casting session does not necessarily remove copies or logs already held by another party.
We aim to use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and risks involved. No network or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Connect only to devices and networks you trust, review your screen before mirroring, and stop sharing when you have finished. Any required breach notices will be handled in accordance with applicable law.
4. Sharing information
Information may be disclosed in these circumstances:
- At your direction: to a selected receiver or a website or service you choose to use.
- To service providers: only where they are actually used to deliver or support a disclosed function, and subject to appropriate data-protection requirements. The SDK list below is not a verified list of active providers.
- With permission: for another clearly explained purpose where your consent is required.
- For legal reasons: where disclosure is required or permitted by applicable law, including valid legal requests and necessary protection of legal rights.
- During a business transfer: subject to applicable law, appropriate protection and notice of material changes.
Personal information will not be publicly disclosed simply because you use Replico. Your choice to display content on a shared screen may make that content visible to others.
5. Your choices and rights
You can stop casting or mirroring and manage available permissions in your device’s system settings. You can also disable the Safari extension or change its website access. Refusing a permission may prevent the related feature from working; it does not automatically authorize other collection.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
Use the feedback option in Replico to submit a privacy request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify and handle it, and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Deleting Replico does not necessarily delete information already held by a receiver, website or service provider.
6. Children’s privacy
If you are below the age at which you can independently consent under applicable law, involve a parent or legal guardian before using features that process personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information without required parental consent, contact us so the matter can be reviewed and the information deleted where required.
7. Policy changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes in Replico or applicable requirements. The latest version and update date will be available on this page. Material changes require appropriate notice and, where required, fresh consent before the changed processing begins.
8. Contact
For questions, complaints or privacy requests, use the feedback option in Replico. Include enough information to explain your request, but do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
9. Permissions
- Local Network: for finding and communicating with compatible receivers on your local network. Refusing access can prevent network-device discovery or control.
- Photos: for accessing the photos or videos you choose to cast. Where supported by iOS, you can limit the selection instead of granting access to your entire library.
- Screen broadcasting: starting a mirroring session shares screen content through the system-supported flow. End the broadcast when you no longer want to share your screen.
- Safari extension website access: for the extension to work on sites you allow. Without access to a site, its extension-based casting feature may not work there.
Ordinary internet access is not the same as Apple’s Network Extension capability. This draft does not claim that tracking, notifications, microphone access or a VPN capability is required. Any additional permission must match the actual release and its displayed purpose.
10. Third-party services
In order to ensure the realization of the relevant functions of this application and the safe and stable operation of the application, we will access the software development kit (SDK) provided by a third party to achieve related purposes according to the needs of actual business scenarios.
SDKs listed in the App
We will conduct strict security monitoring on the software tool development kits (SDKs) used by partners to obtain information to protect data security. The relevant third-party SDKs we access to are listed in the catalog. Please note that the third-party SDK may change the data processing type due to its version upgrade, policy adjustment, etc., please refer to the official description of its formula.
