The short version. You control what you record and share. Recven provides recording, optional Apple Watch moment marking, and privacy tools, but it cannot bypass iOS or another service's recording restrictions.
1. Using Recven
These Terms of Use apply to the Recven iPhone app, its Apple Watch companion, and this website. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. The app is intended for use on supported Apple devices and operating system versions.
2. Features and their limits
The app lets you start a screen recording through the iOS system flow, review and edit a recording, save or share a copy, add moment markers from Apple Watch, and cover selected areas before export. You can use the core recording workflow without an Apple Watch or account. Watch marking requires a compatible, connected Apple Watch with the companion app.
Capture depends on iOS, device conditions, available storage, and the app or content being recorded. Some audio, calls, protected media, or app content may not be capturable. The app does not promise uninterrupted recording or that privacy covers will identify every sensitive item automatically. Review any recording and exported version before relying on or sharing it.
3. Your recordings and other content
You retain any rights you have in the recordings and other content you create or import. Using the app does not transfer ownership of that content to Recven. You are responsible for keeping copies you need and for managing anything you save to Photos or share with another app or service.
Privacy redaction creates a separate exported version rather than replacing the original. A covered area in one export does not remove that information from the original or from copies you shared earlier.
4. Recording and sharing responsibly
Only record, use, and share content when you have the necessary rights and permissions. Respect other people's privacy, applicable law, and the rules of the app, game, meeting, or service you are recording. Do not use Recven to violate another person's rights, bypass technical protections, or engage in unlawful activity.
5. Cost, updates, and availability
Recven is free to use and has no subscription or in-app purchases. Your device, network, or third-party service provider may charge its own fees. We may improve, change, or discontinue features as the app evolves. Where practical, we will make important changes clear through updated app information or these terms.
6. Privacy and third-party services
Our Privacy Policy explains how the app handles recordings, markers, optional inputs, and exports. If you choose to share to Photos, a messaging app, cloud storage, or another destination, that destination's separate terms and privacy practices apply.
7. No guarantee of a particular result
We aim to make the app reliable, but device limits, software updates, interruptions, and third-party restrictions can affect recording and exports. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided without a guarantee that every feature will always be available or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits rights that applicable consumer law does not allow us to exclude.
8. Changes and contact
We may revise these terms as the app changes. The revision date appears at the top of this page. Continued use after revised terms take effect means the revised terms apply where permitted by law; if you disagree, stop using the app.
For questions about these terms, contact the developer through the official support channel shown in the app or on its App Store listing.
