At a glance. Recven is designed around on-device recording, Apple Watch moment marking, and local privacy redaction. Recording does not require an account. Original files are not overwritten when you export a redacted version.

1. What this policy covers

This policy describes the Recven iPhone app, its Apple Watch companion, and this website. It explains the data these experiences use to provide their features. Your use of Apple services, websites, and apps you choose to share with is governed by their own privacy practices.

2. Data used by the app

To make the features you choose work, the app processes content and information on your device, including:

  • Recordings: video of your screen and any audio you choose to capture, subject to iOS and content restrictions.
  • Moment markers: the time and recording association of markers you add from Apple Watch. The Watch companion transfers markers to your iPhone so you can jump to them later.
  • Privacy edits: the areas, time ranges, and cover styles you select, plus a separate exported copy when you save one.
  • Optional camera or microphone input: only when you choose a feature that uses it and grant the relevant system permission.

The core recording, marking, and redaction workflow is designed to run locally. It does not require you to create an account or upload your recording to a Recven cloud service by default.

3. Permissions and device access

iOS controls access to protected device features. The app may request access only when you use the related feature:

  • Screen capture: you start recording through the iOS system flow. The app cannot silently record your screen.
  • Microphone: optional input if you turn on microphone recording or make an audio recording.
  • Camera: optional input if you use FaceCam.
  • Photos: used when you select a video to work with or choose to save a finished copy to your photo library.
  • Apple Watch connection: used to bring your moment markers to the related iPhone recording.

You can manage camera, microphone, and Photos access in iOS Settings. Disabling access may stop the corresponding optional feature, but screen recording does not depend on Apple Watch or a user account.

4. Sharing and exports

A recording is not shared just because you create it. When you choose to save to Photos, export a file, or use the iOS Share Sheet, the destination you select may receive that copy. Review the destination's privacy policy before sharing sensitive material. Privacy covers can help, but you should preview the entire exported video before sending it.

5. Storage, security, and deletion

Recordings and related editing data are kept on your device as part of the app's local workflow. A redacted export is a separate file; editing it does not replace the original recording. You can remove files you no longer need using the app's available controls. Copies saved in Photos or shared with another service must be managed there separately.

Your device's operating system and backup settings may affect how local files are backed up or restored. Deleting the app may also remove files stored only in its local storage, so save any recordings you want to keep first. No storage method can guarantee absolute security.

6. This website

This website is a static information site. Its current pages do not include a contact form, account sign-in, advertising scripts, or analytics cookies. Your browser or hosting provider may still process standard connection information needed to deliver the pages. We do not control browser settings or the privacy practices of sites you visit through external links.

7. Children

Recven is a general-purpose utility, not a service directed at children. If you are below the age at which you can agree to these terms under applicable law, use the app with a parent or guardian's permission.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when the app's features or data practices change. The date at the top of this page shows the latest revision. Material changes should be reflected here and in the app's App Store privacy disclosures.

For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer through the official support channel shown in the app or on its App Store listing.
